Their Aspirations is about giving the kids a place to dream and be who they want to be in the future. Aspirations are what drive people into continuing to work hard, they push them through hardships and challenges. When Brian was in his graduation year in Kindergarten, he remembered the teachers would video record each student, asking them what they wanted to be when they grew up. Watching the video again now, it’s heartwarming to see how much he’d grown and matured. So for his second series, he did the same for them and asked all the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up.
This series has Ashley Kan as the featured artist. She drew the professions that the kids from The Little Ones want to pursue. With a cute and simplistic drawing style, each piece has a very similar design. The viewers are able to differentiate which profession goes with which animal by the background colors that will be paired up between the two sets of illustrations.
